Arrival in Keflavik

Since it is not uncommon to fly to Iceland on later flights, arriving at Keflavík Airport near the capital Reykjavík before midnight, we have a tip for dealing with such an arrival at the beginning of this itinerary. If you're arriving early in the morning or mid-morning, go straight to busy day 1.

When you arrive in Keflavik, which is less than an hour’s drive from Reykjavik, it’s a good idea to pick up a rental car immediately. If you want to head as close to the airport as possible immediately after picking up, there are several options – we recommend Konvin Hotel.
