Bergen

Bergen is the second largest city in Norway, located on the west coast of the country. It is known for its beautiful nature, surrounded by fjords and mountains. The city has a rich history dating back to the Middle Ages and is famous for its historic harbour, Bryggen, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Bergen is easily accessible by air, as it has Bergen Flesland International Airport (BGO), which is well connected to major European cities. If you’re already in Norway, you can reach Bergen from Oslo via the beautiful and scenic Bergensbanen rail route.

Parking in Bergen is complicated and expensive. Public parking on the streets is limited and mostly paid. There are also several parking houses in the city, such as ByGarasjen and GriegPark.

Bryggen: Historic district with colourful wooden houses from the 14th century.

Fløibanen: A cable car that takes you up Fløyen Mountain with a breathtaking view of the city and surrounding countryside.

Aquarium in Bergen: One of the largest aquariums in Norway with rich marine fauna.

Troldhaugen: home and museum of the famous Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg.

Fisketorget: A market with fresh seafood and other local products.
