Place description

Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh Castle, is an important historic fortress that stands atop the cliffs of Edinburgh’s Old Town. This imposing structure is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Scotland and offers tourists a glimpse of the region’s rich history. Inside the castle you can see the royal chambers, the army museum, and get a glimpse of the prison for military prisoners at the time. If you can spare the time, we also recommend queuing up to see the royal jewels – just beware, no photos are allowed inside!

The castle also offers a beautiful view of Edinburgh itself. The castle is definitely worth a visit, it is a beautiful building and you will learn a lot of interesting things. You can buy tickets on site, but we recommend buying them online and preferably in advance as they are sold for a specific time slot and disappear quickly. At a minimum, buy the day before.
