Guilderton, also known as the “City by the River”, is located about 95 kilometres north of Perth, and is the point where the Moore River enters the Indian Ocean.

One of Guilderton’s main attractions is the Moore Estuary, where fresh river water mixes with salt sea water to create a unique spectacle. (Note: An estuary or estuary is a type of river estuary, it has an elongated, funnel shape.) You can swim, rent a kayak, paddleboard or fish here, while the kids enjoy playing safely in the shallow water. For those who want to explore the surrounding nature, there are scenic walking trails that offer beautiful views of the river, dunes and ocean. We definitely recommend a visit to the local lookout over the beach, where the churning water is beautifully visible.
