Kjenndalsbreen waterfall

The Kjendallsbreen glacier is part of the Jostedalsbreen National Park and is one of the most accessible places in Norway where you can drive or caravan directly to the glacier without having to hike for several hours. Although it is an easy destination to reach by car, it is a peaceful walk in the middle of nature without crowds of tourists.

The glacier is surrounded by equally magnificent mountains and valleys that offer a glimpse of the Norwegian wilderness. From the car park, a short and easy trail leads along the river flowing out of the glacier almost to the glacial outwash to admire its beauty up close.

The icing on the cake is a parking lot with a view of the glacier and the surrounding waterfalls, which is accessible to all vehicles and caravans for a small fee (70 NOK per car in 2023), with the possibility of overnight stays, so that the waterfall can be admired not only while walking around, but also from the back of the caravan. Staying overnight and waking up right under the glacier is without a doubt one of the best places to spend the night in a car in Western Norway and should not be missing from any itinerary.
