Likholefossen Waterfall

Likholefossen Waterfall in western Norway is one of the stops on the Gaularfjellet route, one of Norway’s national scenic trails. Over 100 kilometres long, the trail meanders across a plateau filled with lakes and vast forests, offering a glimpse of the Norwegian wilderness from the comfort of a car or campervan. The architectural addition above the waterfall itself is a 2006 stainless steel bridge designed to accentuate the shimmering light and reflections of the river, adding to the unique experience of the site.

Parking is available directly at the waterfall, making the site accessible for cars and caravans. In addition, the Gaularfjellet trail offers a variety of parking spaces near lakes and rivers with breathtaking views of the surrounding area, making it an almost necessary stop when travelling around Norway in a car.

Apart from a short walk from the car park to the waterfall, the area around Likholefossen offers a number of hiking trails with the possibility of hikes of several hours or days. For those who want to go on a day hike, the Fossestien trail offers thirteen other waterfalls and seven lakes in addition to Likholefossen in its 21 kilometres.
