Lookout tower Skokanský můstek Zadov

The lookout tower on the former K-90 ski jump in Zadov is a unique technical monument and a dominant feature of the Šumava region of Churáňov at an altitude of 1,109 metres. The original sports building was completed in 1978 and has served its present function as an observation tower after reconstruction since 1993. The total height of the structure reaches 52 metres, with the observation platform located 32 metres above the ground. The structure consists of a massive concrete base and a steel tower with wooden cladding, the rear wall of which has been used as an outdoor climbing wall since 2015, one of the highest in the Czech Republic.

The lookout tower can be reached either by hiking or by cable car from Zadov, but we recommend the more accessible and less steep route from the parking lot Pláně. It will be about 2 km there and back with minimal elevation gain – you will have enough energy left for the hike and views of the lookout itself. And the views are worth it.

The view from here is beautiful not only on the surrounding ski slope, the cable car, but especially the view, which used to be offered only to ski jumpers, is really unforgettable. And for people with vertigo, it may not be quite ideal.
