Máminka lookout tower

The Máminka lookout tower is located near the village of Hudlice, not far from the town of Beroun.

The viewpoint is exceptional for its extensive view of the Berounka River valley and the picturesque landscape of Křivoklátska. This viewpoint is located on the top of the Krušná hora hill at an altitude of 609 m above sea level. It is surrounded by dense forests and green meadows, which makes it an ideal place for nature lovers and photographers.

There are several hiking trails in the vicinity of the viewpoint, which lead through the surrounding forests and offer opportunities for hiking or cycling. These trails are suitable for both families with children and experienced hikers. Nearby there are also historical monuments such as Křivoklát Castle or Žebrák Castle.

The view from the lookout is breathtaking, especially at sunset, when the sky over the Berounka valley turns fiery red and orange. In addition to the panoramic view of the river and the surrounding peaks of the Křivoklát Highlands, in clear weather you can see the peaks of the Šumava Mountains. We unfortunately did our trip in cold winter weather with a lot of fog, where we didn’t really enjoy the views, but the reviews of other visitors speak for themselves and rate the views as one of the best in the whole area.

The lookout is also a popular picnic spot, with several benches and tables where visitors can relax and refresh themselves in the open air. A fire pit, trash cans, or shelters are also available. Not far from the lookout tower is the hunting garden, where you can also relax and, of course, reflect in silence.

We recommend combining it with a tour of the surrounding forests, which will take you a little more than two hours and is suitable for any nature lover.
