Monte Palace Madeira is a palace and garden complex located in Monte, a suburb of Funchal. On 70,000 m2 there are plants from all over the world. Everyone can explore the garden at their own pace, with spectacular views of Funchal and the surrounding area from various vantage points within the complex. The botanical garden can be reached by cable car, which runs directly from the centre of Funchal.

There are 2 botanical gardens in Funchal, in addition to the Monte Palace and the Jardim Botânico da Madeira. There is a cable car between them, so it is possible to make an almost all-day trip.
