Orso del Pradel

Orso del Pradel is a bear statue on the Pradel Plateau, which rises above Lake Molveno. The work was created by Italian artist Marco Martalar from around 2,000 pieces of larch roots collected after the devastating storm Vaia in 2018. The imposing sculpture measures 6 metres in height and 8 metres in length and symbolises the connection between man and nature.

But this place is not just about the statue itself. The surrounding countryside is breathtaking and offers spectacular views of the lake, the city and the surrounding mountains. Pradel is definitely worth a visit.

The Pradel plateau can be easily reached by cable car from Molvena, from where a short, beautiful walk along a marked trail leads directly to the statue. The cable car is also accessible with a bicycle or pram. Alternatively, it is possible to walk from Molveno – the walk takes about an hour, is quite steep and is not suitable for normal city strollers. However, if you have an all-terrain (trekking) stroller, you can choose the “Sciury’s World”(Il mondo di Sciury) route, which is designed as a fun and educational trail for children and adapted for all-terrain strollers.

There are many family-friendly attractions right on the Pradel plateau, such as the Forest Park rope park, the Malga Tovre mountain animal farm and various playgrounds. All these places are easily accessible and ideal for families with young children.
