Place description

Positano is a small but extremely picturesque village on the steep slopes of the rocky Amalfi Coast. At first glance, you will be charmed by its narrow, winding streets, staircases and terraces full of flowers. It is characterised by its pastel-coloured houses, which stack like a mosaic over the clear turquoise sea.

The once peaceful fishing village is now a popular resort for those who crave beauty, romance and a true Mediterranean atmosphere. Here you’ll find chic boutiques, local art galleries, excellent restaurants and cosy cafes with sea views.

Although there aren’t many monumental sights, the Church of Santa Maria Assunta with its iconic tiled dome is definitely worth a visit. In addition, you can take a stroll along the coastal promenade or just get lost in the alleys that lead you to small hidden coves. Whether you come here for relaxation, photography or just a gelato, you’re guaranteed to take away a memory you’ll never forget.

Positano is a beautiful but small and quite touristy town. It’s ideal for a day trip – we wouldn’t recommend it for a longer stay due to the high prices and small size. Accommodation and food are significantly more expensive here than elsewhere on the coast.
