Another place not to be missed during your visit to Edinburgh is The Vennel. This picturesque alleyway in the Grassmacreth area overlooks Edinburgh Castle. The Vennel is just a few minutes’ walk from Victoria Street. In addition, the area has clouds of restaurants, cafes or bakeries, from where you can enjoy a beautiful view not only of the streets themselves, but especially of the castle.

It’s definitely worth taking a break and heading here in the morning when it’s least crowded.
