The White Stones, also known as the Elephant Stones, are a grouping of several sandstone rocks near the village of Rynoltice in northern Bohemia. The rocks are divided by 3 large fissures and not only from the height they really resemble an elephant. The white colour is caused by the content of kaolinite, a clay mineral.
The white stones are roughly 20 metres high and are a great sight from afar and up close. There are also several tourist signs with more detailed information about the rocks and the surrounding area.
We’ll be happy to create a personalized itinerary.
Free parking is available about 20 minutes from White Stones, at the Jitrava bus stop opposite the petrol station. A red hiking trail leads to the rocks from here.
