Place description

Božídarské rašeliniště is a national nature reserve on the edge of the highest village in the Czech Republic – Boží Dar. The peat bog is exceptional especially for the occurrence of spruces, knees, or stands of bog pine. There is a nature trail through the entire peat bog with a total of 12 information signs with interesting information not only about local vegetation.

There is also a nice walk called the Baby Jesus Trail in the surroundings of the Božídarské rašeliniště, which you can walk through in about 1 hour. It offers 2 circuits, the shorter one with a length of about 6 km and the longer one with twice as many kilometres.

Parking

You can park in several paid parking lots directly at Boží Dar, usually for 100 CZK for the whole day. We can recommend, for example, the parking lot at the new Červený Vlk Brewery, where they make great food, and more importantly great beer.
