The church in Val di Funes (Church of St. John in Ranui) is one of the most visited and photographed places in the Dolomites. It is built in the middle of a meadow with the beautiful mountain peaks as a backdrop. The façade of the church is richly decorated with frescoes depicting the patron saints. It is not for nothing that this place is described as a typical essence of the beauty of Tyrol.
There is a fee to enter the large fenced meadow where the Baroque church stands. The church itself is closed to the public. However, you will have a nice view from behind the fence, just outside the car park. Just be prepared for the crowds.
