Basilica of Saint Paul Outside the Walls (Basilica Papale di San Paolo Fuori le Mura), which is just a few minutes’ walk from the heart of the district. It is one of the four papal basilicas in Rome and a place of great spiritual and historical significance – tradition has it that the Apostle Paul is buried here. The interior of the basilica is stunning in its grandeur: the massive columns, the mosaics, the peaceful atmosphere and the magnificent cloistered courtyard with its marble columns make this one of the most powerful spiritual experiences in Rome.
