The “moonscape” and the Gunnuhver geyser are located in the Reykjanes area, near the village of Grindavík. There is a legend associated with the place, after which Gunnuhver is named. The name derives from the name of a woman called Gudrun, nicknamed Gunna, who lived here and was suspected of witchcraft.
Gunnuhver is worth a stop if you are going to be in the area of this peninsula. It won’t take you long to visit, the parking lot is right next to the geyser. We recommend combining your visit with other places – such as the Bridge Between Continents or the Blue Lagoon.
