Place description

Hverfjall is a volcano in the northwest of Iceland just off Lake Mývatn, which is approximately 1 km in diameter. There is a hiking trail leading directly up from the car park, and you have less than 600 metres uphill. The path is rocky, sturdy shoes are recommended. If you have more time, you can go around the crater, this trail is 3.2 km long.
