Kalbarri Skywalk

The Kalbarri Skywalk is one of the newest and most impressive attractions in Kalbarri National Park, located in Western Australia, about 570 kilometres north of Perth. Opened in 2020, this viewpoint consists of two massive platforms extending 100 metres above the rim of the Murchison River Canyon. Below you, then, is a deep canyon and endless red sandstone cliffs formed over millions of years.

The Skywalk offers breathtaking panoramic views of the National Park’s dramatic landscape, which changes throughout the day depending on the sunlight. The morning and evening hours provide the most spectacular scenery, when the rock faces turn shades of orange and red. In addition to the viewpoint itself, there is an information centre where visitors can learn more about the geology, indigenous history and unique flora and fauna of the area.

The Kalbarri Skywalk is easily accessible by tarmac path and is therefore suitable for all ages, including families with children and people with limited mobility.
We recommend going to the place at sunrise, which for us meant being here as early as 5:30 in the morning. But the view of the surrounding nature waking up for the next day is definitely worth it. And you also have a better chance of seeing kangaroos along the way then – watch out for them while driving though, they often jump across the road.

In case you have a drone with you, you also have the opportunity to get a bird’s eye view of the Kalbarri Skywalk in the morning without disturbing the crowds of visitors who come during the day. And our photos prove that it’s from a drone that you get an incredible view of the Skywalk.
