Lookout tower Vinice

The Vineyard Lookout Tower has been towering over the town of Úvaly in the Central Bohemia Region since 2013. The lookout tower got its name thanks to the former vineyard that used to be here on the southern slope leading to Úvaly. However, the tower, which has 113 stairs leading up to it, was officially opened in 2015. The tower is of metal construction and is 31.2 metres high.

The best way to get to the lookout tower is directly from the village of Úvaly, from where it is a quicker walk uphill along the green hiking trail for only about 15 minutes. The starting point for you will probably be Arnošt’ z Pardubic Square and on the way to the Bendel Trail leading to the lookout tower, you will pass the Church of the Annunciation and continue along the water. It is a very nice afternoon walk that will take you about an hour in total.

And if you are lucky – which we weren’t – you can see from the lookout tower to the Krkonoše Mountains or Ještěd, for example. We will only add that this tower is not for the weaker natures who are afraid of heights – it is “too good” to see below you through the aforementioned metal structure.
