Place description

The 250-hectare Průhonice Park was founded at the end of the 19th century by Count Arnošt Emanuel Silva-Tarouca. Two streams flow through the park – Botič and Dobřejovický brook. However, this is not the only body of water in the park. Just below the Průhonice Castle, which is part of the park and is at its northern end, there is also the Podzámecký Pond, which is lined with several pleasant paths for a walk.

In general, Průhonický Park is an ideal choice for a short or longer weekend walk on the outskirts of Prague. You can get to the park from several entrances, personally we can recommend the western one by the smaller and quieter car park.

Opening hours and entrance fees

Průhonice Park is open all year round, only the “values from – to” vary. In the winter months it is usually from 8 am to 5 pm, in the spring and summer from 7 am to 7 pm and 8 pm respectively. Please always check the official website for the latest information. Admission for adults is 70 CZK (in the low season until the beginning of November until the end of March), in the high season (other months) you can expect to pay a hundred crowns. There is also a charge for a dog, 10 and 20 CZK respectively (again depending on the season). Yearly season tickets are also available.

Parking

In the text above we recommended parking at the next, western, entrance, also because of the price (50 CZK for the whole day). At the main entrance above the castle you pay 30 CZK per hour.
