Malý Štolpich

To visit the Malý Štolpich waterfalls, it’s best to start from the Ferdinandov parking lot above Hejnice. Malý Štolpich, also known as Bílý Štolpich, originates below Holubník and creates a series of cascades and waterfalls on its way to the valley — not one single large drop, but a stream forcing its way between boulders. From the parking lot, follow the blue hiking trail uphill to the bridge where Malý Štolpich itself is located. On the way, however, you’ll pass another, larger waterfall on your left, which is also marked as Malý Štolpich. In our opinion, it’s even nicer than the “main” one by the bridge, so it’s definitely worth a stop.

The route to the bridge is uphill practically the entire time. You’ll walk just over 3.5 km with an elevation gain of around 180 meters, so it’s not suitable for strollers. Along the way, you’ll pass Weber’s Cross, and the path leads mostly through the forest, so on warmer days, you’ll appreciate how the shade reliably cools you down.

We ended up spending more time at the first, larger waterfall than at the one by the bridge. If you’re not in a hurry, we recommend taking a break there before continuing your hike.
