And you’re here! Welcome to the (almost) northernmost point in Europe. Nordkapp, also known as the North Cape, is one of Europe’s most iconic and northernmost points, symbolising where the land meets the icy Arctic Ocean. It is less than 2 100 km from the North Pole. Although not technically the northernmost point in Europe (an honour claimed by neighbouring Cape Knivskjellodden), it is more easily accessible and popular with tourists.
The history of Nordkapp dates back to the 16th century, when it was discovered by the English sailor Richard Chancellor. The popularity of the place grew especially during the 19th century with the increase in tourism. Visitors can explore Nordkapphallen, a complex with a museum, restaurant, café and gift shop. There is a fee to enter the complex and no souvenir can be purchased without paying the fee. A large car park with toilets is available free of charge.
There is also free access to external attractions. On top of the cliff stands a globe statue, a popular spot for photography. In addition, there is an observation deck with spectacular views of the Arctic Ocean and endless horizons. Another place to visit is the Monument to the Children of Europe, a statue symbolizing hope, cooperation and friendship between European nations.
For the adventurous, the surrounding countryside offers hiking trails, campsites and bird and wildlife watching, including reindeer. In summer you can admire the midnight sun, in winter the fascinating Northern Lights.
The journey to Nordkapp is an experience in itself. During the last half hour of the ride you will experience the transformation of the landscape and the feeling of being at the end of the world. The weather can change quickly – from thick fog to a surprising inversion. For many visitors, Nordkapp has a deeply personal meaning, whether as the end of a long journey, a place to reflect or simply a place at the edge of the world.
Our tip: If you have the option and are travelling by van, stay overnight. In the morning you can explore the area without the crowds of tourists. Even if you get cold at night, Nordkapp definitely deserves it.
We’ll be happy to create a personalized itinerary.

Obrovské parkoviště přímo u Nordkappu před budovou Nordkapphallen. Místa je tu dost pro všechny. Pokud stojíte co nejblíže vyhlídkové plošině, máte úžasný výhled. Jsou zde k dispozici toalety, jinak žádné další služby. V noci tu může být opravdu zima.
