Place description

Originally Orlík Castle, which was rebuilt into a chateau, is located on a rocky outcrop in the village of Orlík nad Vltavou and above the Vltava river. Orlík Castle is rightly a very popular place in South Bohemia, as its location and surroundings are definitely worth a visit.

The tourist season for Orlík Castle starts in April and the tours are available in Czech as well as a visit to the castle tower are available until October. However, the castle surroundings are also worth a visit, as well as the nearby Zvíkov Castle or Zvíkov Bridge. Also worth mentioning is the nearby Ždákovský Bridge, which is one of the architectural gems not only in the Czech Republic.

Near the castle there is also a dock, from where several boats go to the vicinity of Orlík.

Opening hours and entrance fees

As mentioned above, the tourist season at Orlík Castle is set from April to October and interior tours are available. For an adult, a tour in Czech costs 250 CZK, other prices and information about the current opening hours can be found on the official website of the castle.

Parking

You can park for 80 CZK for the whole day at the parking lot near the chapel in Orlík nad Vltavou. From there it is only a few minutes walk to the castle.
