The Hlídka na Stráži Lookout Park is a unique grouping of four modern lookout points on the eponymous peak 782 metres above sea level. The four lookout points – Fox, Bear, Sheep and Miner – are located near Rokytnice nad Jizerou, and this town in the Jizera Mountains is the most visible of them.
The project Hlídka na Stráži was designed by Mjölk architects and the original intention was to build a “classic” lookout tower on the site. However, according to the authors, it turned out that the top of Stráž was not suitable for building a regular lookout tower and therefore in 2014, when the project was being developed, they decided to come up with the idea of creating 4 lookout towers, but in the same style. The lookout park was completed and officially opened in 2021.
It is the style and design of the prospects that is really worth mentioning. It is a combination of wood and iron, which fits the natural character very well. The lookouts are quite inconspicuous, yet unique and offer beautiful views. Be sure to visit all 4 viewpoints when you visit this place, and we’ve included an official map to help you get your bearings. There are also several so-called rest areas around the viewpoints where you can unpack a snack and sit for a while.
If you start from the nearest car park at the Hotel Stráž in Končiny, it is a roughly 2.5 km long walk with an elevation gain of just over 100 metres. There are 2 paths leading to the top from this point, one is shorter and steeper, the other you can make it with a stroller to the terrain.

The best way to get to the top is from the Hotel Stráž, where you can also park. Parking is paid via a QR code on the sign. The price of parking is 60 CZK.
Refreshments are also available at the same location. Right next to the hotel there is a little window where they serve beer, flavored Birell and also have something small to eat. You won’t find any refreshments directly in the Lookout Forest Park area.
