Peričnik waterfall

Peričnik Waterfall is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Slovenia. This waterfall is unique in that you can walk right underneath it, which provides an unforgettable experience. It is located in the Triglav National Park, specifically in the Vrata Valley near the village of Mojstrana.

The main attraction is the waterfall itself, but the surrounding area offers beautiful hiking trails and walks. The waterfall is divided into two cascading sections – Upper Peričnik and Lower Peričnik. Both can be reached by a short trail leading along the waterfall. The trail to the waterfall is easily accessible and well marked. From the car park it is approximately a 15-20 minute walk to Lower Peričnik. If you want to visit Upper Peričnik, expect an additional 10-15 minutes of climbing. The trail is quite steep but well maintained. In some parts you will encounter small ledges, so be sure to wear sturdy shoes.

Peričnik is an ideal place for taking nice photos, especially behind the waterfall. If you don’t want to get wet, we recommend to bring a raincoat.

You can reach the Peričnik waterfall from the village of Mojstrana. The trail that leads to the end of the Vrata valley is quite busy, as the valley is a popular excursion destination. However, the waterfall itself is not so widely visited. You can drive up to the Koča pri Peričniku hut, which is opposite the trail to Peričniku.
