Piazzale Michelangelo is a large square with parking offering stunning views of the city with an exceptional atmosphere. In the piazza itself you can find clothing markets, beautiful views, several bars and refreshment options, stairs where people sit at sunset, watching the sun and listening to street performers.

Piazzale Michelangelo was built in the second half of the 19th century and designed by the famous Florentine architect Giuseppe Poggi. It is named after Michelangelo Buonarroti, one of the greatest artists of the Renaissance, whose works left an indelible mark on Florence.

Piazzale Michelangelo is situated on a hill south of the Arno River, allowing for breathtaking views of Florence and its surroundings. The piazza features replicas of some of Michelangelo’s most famous statues, such as David, and other important sculptural works.
