Rovaniemi is the heart of Finnish Lapland. This magical place, the official residence of Santa Claus, offers a unique combination of city life and wildlife. During the winter months, Rovaniemi transforms into a snowy fairy tale, combining modern comfort with traditional Lappish customs. Thanks to the presence of an international airport, Rovaniemi is rightly the centre of the action, especially in winter.

One of Rovaniemi’s biggest attractions is undoubtedly the Santa Claus Village. Built right on the Arctic Circle, this village is home to Santa Claus himself and offers an unforgettable experience for children and adults alike. Visitors can send Christmas cards from the world’s northernmost post office, meet Santa in person or enjoy a walk in the snowy landscape. Near Rovaniemi there is also the opportunity to see the Northern Lights – this amazing natural phenomenon.

Rovaniemi is the ideal place for those looking for an unusual winter holiday. Whether you’re looking for active relaxation, a romantic atmosphere or to experience the traditions of the locals, Rovaniemi has something for you. We mainly explored the city center and even though we were here more than 2 months after Christmas, we still had a festive atmosphere.
