Rudolf’s Stone Lookout

When you say Czechoslovak Switzerland, everyone immediately thinks of the Pravčická Gate and the gorges in Hřensko. There is much more to this protected landscape area. Rudolf’s Stone is one of the most neglected sights and is not often in the sight of tourists. If you are not discouraged by the more demanding climb, you will be rewarded with a circular view of the beautiful landscape of the Jetřichovice Rocks and the Elbe Sandstones. Rudolf’s Stone, as well as Mary’s Lookout (on the opposite peak) was built by the Kinský family more than 150 years ago. Here they struggle on top of the rocks with the often cruel interference of the weather.

The path to the gazebo is well secured with stairs and ladders, so anyone who is not afraid of the information about the difficulty on the signpost can manage it at their own pace. The viewpoint can be reached by following the red trail from Jetřichovice or Vysoké Lípa. The nature trail is 9 km long. If you haven’t had enough of the views, the red-marked path from the centre of Jetřichovice will also take you to Maria’s Lookout and Vilemina’s Wall. If you plan your hike for sunset or sunrise, you are in for a truly magnificent spectacle.
