Seltún in the Krýsuvík area, located on the Reykjanes Peninsula in southwest Iceland approximately 40 km from Reykjavik, is a geothermal area known for its thermal springs, geysers and unique volcanic landscape. The area is very accessible, with hiking trails leading right from the car park, allowing you to walk around and explore the place properly. It’s a photographer’s paradise – you’ll see vibrant sulphur yellows and various shades of orange. Watch out for the fumes and stick to the trails, the ground temperature can be up to around 80-100°C.
