Place description

Sverd i fjell is a historical monument and work of art located in the Hafrsfjord area, which is part of the city of Stavanger in western Norway. It consists of three giant swords stuck into the ground, which are a memorial to the historic Battle of Hafrsfjord, which took place around 872, when Harald I the Beautiful united Norway.

The memorial is approximately 15 minutes’ drive from the centre of Stavanger, making the site easily accessible to visitors to the city. The best way to get here is by car, but you can also use public transport, specifically buses that go towards Hafrsfjord and stop near the monument. There are beautiful views of the Hafrsfjord in the immediate vicinity of the monument. The area is also popular for hiking and picnics, where visitors can admire not only the swords themselves, but also the beautiful nature. There is also a beach, public toilets and an ice cream and waffle stand.

Krásné, udržované a bezpečné parkování při vodě, pláži a nedaleko od památky Sverd i fjell. Parkoviště je vcelku velké, no během dne a speciálně během víkendů může být plné. Večer by jste ale neměli mít žádný problém zaparkovat.

Bez problémů by jste se měli vejít s malým autem i s velkým obytňákem. Hned vedle parkoviště je venkovní fitness hřiště s venkovní sprchou. Směrem k Sverd i fjell naleznete i čisté veřejné toalety.
