The Gap is one of Western Australia’s most breathtaking natural attractions, located in Torndirrup National Park near the town of Albany, about 400 kilometers south of Perth. It’s a place you simply can’t miss on your journey.
And what makes this place so special? A lookout awaits you here, projecting over the edge of the cliff and providing breathtaking views. During strong winds and high waves, you can watch the ocean water crash into the rock and create impressive water sprays, making The Gap one of the most photogenic spots in the region. Even more so if you own a drone.
It’s a very accessible spot, with parking on-site, and you’ll reach the lookout from your car in just a few minutes. If you love wild nature and dramatic coastal scenery, this place definitely won’t disappoint. We recommend heading here for sunrise or sunset—you certainly won’t regret it. We even had to come back the next morning after sunset just to properly enjoy the place and walk to the nearby Natural Bridge.
