Boka Waterfall

Boka Waterfall is one of the most impressive and powerful waterfalls in Slovenia. It is located in the Soca Valley area, near the town of Bovec, and falls from a limestone wall at a total height of over 140 metres, with the first jump alone measuring an impressive 106 metres. The waterfall is fed by an underground spring springing from Mount Kanin, so it is particularly powerful in spring and after heavy rains.

The best view of the waterfall is offered by the Boka Waterfall Viewpoint, which is accessible via an easy, if gently ascending, forest trail. The trail is approximately 1.2 km (round trip) and climbs about 60 metres. The starting point is a small car park on the main road between Bovec and Kobarid – from here a well-marked path leads uphill to the viewpoint, from where a breathtaking view of the waterfall and its surrounding rocky slopes opens up.

The viewpoint is ideal for a short stop when passing through the region and is accessible even for less skilled hikers. The place is most beautiful in the morning sun, when the rays fall directly on the water mass and highlight its power.
