Lauferbauerbrücke is a beautiful historic stone bridge located just outside the village of Weng im Gesäuse, only a few minutes from Admont. This Baroque gem spans the river and will capture your heart at first sight with its atmosphere—it looks like something straight out of an old movie. It used to be part of an important trade route connecting the valleys, and although it now mainly serves tourists and photographers, you can still feel that old-school craftsmanship.
For us, it’s one of the most photogenic spots in the entire area. The combination of old grey stone and the sharp mountain peaks in the background is simply stunning and looks incredible in photos—especially at sunset. It’s the perfect destination for a quick stop when you’re passing through the region or want to enjoy some peace after a more demanding hike. You can reach the bridge easily on flat ground, and you can even drive right up to it. In short, it’s a lovely scenic spot that you shouldn’t miss when visiting Gesäuse.
