Place description

On the 723-metre high peak of Děčínský Sněžník there is a stone lookout tower named Děčínský Snežník as well The lookout tower was built in 1864 and was created mainly for agricultural purposes. However, it later became mainly a tourist destination. From the lookout tower you can see a magnificent view of the surroundings, specifically from here you can see the Bohemian-Saxon Switzerland, the Ore Mountains (Krušné hory in Czech), the Lusatian Mountains (Lužické hory in Czech), or even the Czech Central Highlands with Milešovka. However, the view is also great from the area around the lookout tower.

There is a hiking trail leading to Děčínský Sněžník from the village of Sněžník, also via the Drážďanská vyhlídka (The Dresden Viewpoint), which we recommend visiting. Near the lookout tower there is also a restaurant –Restaurace Pod rozhlednou.

Opening hours and entrance fees

If you go directly to the tower, it is open from April to October. In other months, depending on the weather. Admission for adults is 30 CZK, for children from 6 to 15 years old 15 CZK.

Parking

Parking is available in the vicinity of the village of Sněžník, or directly at the intersection in the paid parking lot. However, on busy weekend days, it is not easy to park here.
