Place description

The relatively new lookout tower Na Stráži, which towers above the village of Sloup v Čechách, was built in 2010 and 2011. Before that, we could find a restaurant in the same place, but it burned down in 1999. The lookout tower, which is open from April to October on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, offers a beautiful view not only of the nearby Sloup Rock Castle, but also of the surrounding Český ráj in general.

In case you visit the lookout tower outside the mentioned periods (like we did), you don’t have to despair – there is a similarly nice view from the adjacent rocks (Vyhlídka Na Stráži) and a pleasant walk through the surroundings, through the rocks and the natural amphitheatre.

Opening hours and entrance fees

The lookout tower is open from April to October, always on weekends and holidays. In the low season, from November to March, the tower is open from 10:00 to 17:00 in good weather. The entrance fee for adults is 20 CZK, for children up to 1 metre high it is free. For up-to-date information on opening hours, please visit the official website.

Parking

You can park directly at the lookout tower, i.e. already on the hill. However, we can also recommend the parking lot in the nearby village of Sloup, from where a red hiking trail leads directly to the lookout.
