Špička is a very unusual lookout tower at the top of Malý Špičák near Tanvald. It is a shiny construction, which is supposed to resemble a racing bob. The famous bobsled track originally stood in this area. The lookout tower was built in 2020 and is a popular and very accessible tourist destination, both on foot and by bike. The lookout tower is popular not only for its accessibility, but especially for its shiny material, which reflects the surrounding nature and creates beautiful views, different in every season.
After climbing two ladders to the top of the tower, you will see the nearby Tanvald as if in the palm of your hand, and by looking to the other sides of the world you will see the Krkonoše Mountains and the quiet surrounding nature.
It is about 1.5 km on foot from the Pod Špičák parking lot. We recommend going one way along the shared cycle path and the other along the blue hiking trail. The whole “circuit” is 2.8 km with an elevation gain of 120 metres.
