Place description

Mirador La Tarta is a viewpoint located on the iconic TF-24 road, known as Carretera de la Esperanza. This road leads from the town of La Laguna towards the Teide National Park.

The viewpoint got its name thanks to unique geological formations that resemble layers of cake. These layers are the result of various volcanic eruptions that left differently coloured sediments. Each layer represents a different eruption, creating a colour palette ranging from white to black to red.

Mirador La Tarta also offers panoramic views of Teide Volcano and the surrounding countryside. If the weather is clear, it is also possible to see the neighbouring island of La Palma.

The viewpoint is easily accessible and offers parking spaces for visitors. It is the ideal place for a short stop during a trip to Teide National Park, where you can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and the wonderful views where you can take beautiful photos.
