Nusfjord is one of the oldest and best preserved fishing villages in the Lofoten Islands. This idyllic village is a gem with wooden buildings built on stilts over the water, typical of the area. Surrounded by the fjord and flanked by steep rocky peaks, Nusfjord offers spectacular natural scenery. The journey to the village itself is an unforgettable experience.
You can visit Nusfjord in a few hours. Here you can admire the traditional fishermen’s houses called Rorbuer. Originally designed for fishermen, these wooden huts now often provide accommodation for tourists, offering an authentic Lofoten experience. We also recommend visiting the small fishing museum to learn more about the history of the village and the fishing traditions of the Lofoten Islands.
Nusfjord boasts a beautiful picturesque harbour that is worth photographing. The harbour comes alive especially during the fishing season and offers a unique insight into local life.
If you wish to extend your stay in Nusfjord, the surrounding countryside offers many hiking opportunities with spectacular views of the fjord and surrounding mountains. In addition, you can rent paddle boards or kayaks in the village and explore the fjord from the water.

It is possible to park your car or motorhome in the free car parks which are available just after entering the village. Nusfjord is not large in size, so you will have everything within easy reach.
