Siena

Siena is a beautiful city located in the heart of Tuscany in the central part of Italy, approximately 70 kilometres south of Florence. This historic city is easily accessible by car, bus or even train.

Siena’s most important landmarks include the Piazza del Campo, the shell-shaped main square where the famous Palio di Siena horse race is held every year. Another unforgettable sight is the Siena Cathedral (Duomo di Siena), a gem of Gothic architecture with a magnificent interior that includes works by Donatello, Bernini and Michelangelo. Not to be missed are the Palazzo Pubblico and the Torre del Mangia, the town hall and high tower offering breathtaking views of the city, or the Basilica di San Domenico, the church with the relics of St. Catherine of Siena.
