Viewpoint Ågvatnet

This viewpoint is located at the southern tip of Lofoten and offers great views of the eponymous lake Ågvatnet, the town of Å and the surrounding very specific Lofoten nature. The viewpoint can only be reached on foot. If you park in the car park in Å, you will have a 30-minute walk with a small elevation gain. If you want to extend your walk, we recommend going around the entire circuit around the lake, which is just under 7 kilometres.

The environment is truly pristine with no commercial stops or refreshments. That is why we recommend to bring water and a snack. When you want to refresh yourself, take a dip right in the icy lake below. The path to the viewpoint is not paved, it is part of a hiking trail and therefore we also recommend good footwear. You are sure to encounter rocks, mud, gravel and grass.

If you have a dog, bring it with you. It’s one of the few treks in the Lofoten Islands that doesn’t go uphill too much, so you can all really enjoy it.
