Vysoká lookout tower

Not far from Kutná Hora, where you will find, for example, the beautiful The Church of St. Barbara , near the village of Suchdol, there is a 25-metre high lookout tower Vysoká. There are 144 stairs leading to the top of the tower, after climbing which you will get a view of Kolín, the aforementioned Kutná Hora and the surrounding countryside. If the visibility is good, however, you can see much further – for example, up to the Krkonoše Mountains or the Liberec Ještěd.

The ruins of the Belvedér summer palace are located in the vicinity of the tower. If you go to this area, be sure to “climb” into the adjacent forest, where the ruins from the late 17th century are located. The whole route from the car park will take no more than an hour – so it’s the perfect short weekend trip.
