Boubín lake

Boubínské jezírko is one of the shorter, yet beautiful, stops in Šumava and offers a peaceful alternative to more demanding mountain hikes. The road to it starts at the parking lot of the Idina Pila information centre on the edge of the Boubínský průže. A pleasant, roughly two-kilometre walk in one direction awaits you, which, thanks to the paved surface and a slight elevation of less than 100 metres, can be managed by less fit hikers or families with children.

The trail leads through deep forests on a wide path that is easily passable even in winter. Once you reach the finish line, you’ll see the calm surface of a small lake that was originally built as a floatation basin for transporting wood to the glassworks in Lenora. Today, this place is an oasis of peace where you can relax on wooden benches and enjoy the surrounding nature and the reflections of the Boubín woods on the water surface.

The path to the Boubín lake is one of the few in the area that can be walked due to the restrictions.
