Natural Bridge and Island Rock are other natural attractions in Kalbarri National Park, located along the coast of Western Australia. These rock formations have been created by thousands of years of erosion and are now one of the most beautiful vantage points of the Indian Ocean.
Natural Bridge is a rock arch that arches over the turbulent waters of the ocean. The sight of waves crashing against the cliffs and giant seabirds circling above the surface is truly mesmerising. The nearby observation deck allows for safe viewing and offers great photo opportunities, especially at sunrise or sunset.
Island Rock is a separate rock formation that was once part of the mainland cliffs, but erosion has gradually separated it. Today it stands alone in the ocean as a natural monument to the constant force of the sea waves and wind. From the lookout, you have a spectacular view of this rock monolith and can often spot whales migrating along the coast (especially between June and November).
Both sites are easily accessible via the coastal road and are just a short walk from the car park. Thanks to the well-built viewing platforms, even less fit hikers can enjoy this natural wonder. If you are planning a visit to Kalbarri National Park, Natural Bridge and Island Rock should definitely not be missing from your list.
