Edinburgh, Scotland
The Scottish capital Edinburgh, where Ryanair flies from Prague, is one of the most popular cities offering a beautiful mix of history and nature. The main sights can be explored on foot in about 2 days, with stops at the National Museum of Scotland or Edinburgh Castle, for example, you can fill up a full 3 days. Apart from the historic city, the views from Calton Hill or the beautiful Dean Village, which has a very nice park leading to it, are definitely worth mentioning.
Not only lovers of history, but also lovers of good beer, Scotch and the aforementioned nature will find something to enjoy here. For us, Edinburgh was a pleasant surprise as we walked the beautiful local streets in peace, experienced the mysterious atmosphere around the castle and found time to visit the countryside close to the centre.

Helsinki, Finland
The Finnish capital has more to offer than meets the eye. You may not find as much history here as you do in Edinburgh, but you can enjoy a long weekend of modern architecture and relaxation in the countryside. In fact, it’s no problem to quickly get out of the city and enjoy the beautiful countryside along the sea and lakes that Finland is famous for.
Local architecture is particularly notable for the Temppeliaukio Rock Church and the Helsinki City Library. In addition to sightseeing tips, the itinerary below by Peter Zdarsky also includes recommendations for restaurants or local attractions.

Copenhagen, Denmark
The last tip for a long weekend in Europe is Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. It is also easy to get here by direct flight from Prague, or even by car. Denmark offers beautiful modern architecture that mixes with history in the narrower centre. Be it the Rundetaarn Tower, Christiansborg Slot or the Nyhavn area. But a visit to Copenhagen doesn’t have to be all about architecture either.
There are several beautiful parks right in the city that are definitely worth a visit – for example, you can enjoy a peaceful walk around the Renaissance fortress of Kastellet, and especially in autumn, it is full of colour. Copenhagen is also a centre for good food, and the itinerary below includes tips for great cinnamon snails, a delicious burger near Nyhavn and a Danish version of sandwiches.
