Place description

The viewpoint and rest area of Averøy is not popular at all yet and we found it by chance on the way from Atlantic Ocean Road towards Kristiansund. That’s also why you can expect a lot less people here, which sometimes really comes in handy. The place is truly breathtaking and offers the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the rugged and undiscovered Norwegian nature.

There are four large picnic areas with benches, tables and trash cans. A new short hiking trail has recently been established where you can explore the coastline of the Averøy area with views of the ocean or neighbouring islands. We also recommend setting up chairs and enjoying the sunset.

A beautiful parking lot right at the viewpoint of Averøy. The car park is suitable for all types of cars and motorhomes. There is enough space for 10 motorhomes, but it depends on how you park. The place is usually not crowded, it is quiet and the surroundings are beautiful. There are picnic facilities and the opportunity to take walks in the surrounding area. Although there is no service, the site offers ideal conditions for camping in the countryside.
